Introduction to Backcountry Skiing

Discover the Freedom

Step beyond the groomed slopes and leave the crowded lifts behind! This course is designed for capable resort skiers ready to take their first steps into the Norwegian backcountry. Join me to discover the silence of the Arctic wilderness and the satisfaction of earning your turns.

The Focus: Learning & Safety

This is a low-stress environment. We select gentle, non-technical terrain where the focus is on mastering technique rather than extreme performance.

  • Equipment Mastery: Learn how to use touring bindings, apply climbing skins, and execute efficient transitions.
  • Uphill Travel: Master “skinning” techniques to conserve energy while ascending.
  • Safety First: Basics of terrain reading, avalanche awareness, and group management.
  • The Reward: Enjoy a guided run from “summit to sea” (conditions permitting).
Your Guide

I have been living in this area since 2014.

  • Expertise: I hold a Level II Avalanche Course certificate. Your safety is my priority.
  • Passion: I love sharing the transition from resort skiing to the freedom of the mountains.
